Essential Swedish Grammar/201 Swedish Verbs: These are very good books and, in my humble opinion, a must if you are using a home study language course. The grammar book clearly explains the use of Swedish grammar with plenty of example sentences. The 201 Swedish Verbs book gives you all the tense formations of 201 most commonly used verbs. £4 & £8 respectively (from Amazon UK).
Prisma's English<>Swedish Dictionary (3rd Edition): A useful dictionary containing 109,000 headwords and 30,000 phrases. This is the biggest and most comprehensive dictionary of its kind that I have been able to find so far. Cost: £50 (from Amazon UK). There are several smaller, more cheaper dictionaries available from Amazon, starting from about £12.

(Swedish): For beginners to advanced learners, Before You Know It is the simple and effective way to master a new language with Perfect Recall, and you'll quickly learn to understand and speak 1,000 common Swedish words and 250 essential phrases. This is a great product which is available in "Lite" or "Deluxe" modes. Lite is free and contains about 12 lists words and phrases; ideal if you just wish to 'try before you buy'.
